Mark Hayden has written an excellent book that has become a bestseller and has won both the Whitbread Book of the Year and Whitbread Novel Awards. When Mark Haddon himself was making this book, he asked, "Who would want to read about a fifteen-year-old boy with a disability?" Little did he know that the exactly fifteen-year-old disabled boy stood up for his book, won awards and became a bestseller. The title of the book is "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time and the Boy Is Christopher."
Christopher is an autistic-scent. He can name all the countries of the world and their capitals. He has photographic memory and talent for mathematics and science. Despite his extraordinary intelligence, he is unpredictable, does not understand figurines of words and is associated with jokes. He doesn’t even like places where a lot of people and people touch him. People with autistic-savant exhibit two symptoms that are common in people with autism and those with savant syndrome. Autism is a disorder that is affecting more and more people in the autism spectrum disorder. This condition is mainly characterized by weaknesses in socialization, imagination and communication. Sawant syndrome is characterized by very low general intelligence, but unusually narrow intelligence, usually in the fields of mathematics, music, the arts, and memory.
Christopher's parents split up in the story. Her mother decided to leave Christopher and her father because she could not bear the demands of raising an autistic child. Parents caring for special children with autism tend to have higher levels of stress than most parents. This is because of the special demands on their children, abnormal behavior and different abilities than other children of the same age. These children are very difficult to communicate with and, therefore, may have unusual reactions. An example of this is when an autistic child cries for no apparent reason and starts killing himself. Most likely, something bothered him, but he could not say what it was because he did not know how it was. Some autistic children with sensory integration problems may be hypersensitive or hyposensitive to touch, stress, movement and sound. They show certain behaviors that are sometimes difficult to understand, such as avoiding certain foods and drinks, pinching or hitting, turning frequently, and yelling. Some of them may even be strongly committed to certain routines and may be afraid of new places or people. Adjusting to the needs of these children and dealing with their behavior is not easy and, therefore, can lead to a lot of stress.
Autism is a disorder that is affecting more and more children. They thrive on security and should avoid what they consider to be a threat to their own safety. However, many factors, conditions and demands in the society make them insecure and they are often forced to deal with them which makes them anxious. Unknowingly and unknowingly, children with autism are constantly worried about something new or something beyond their comprehension. As in the book, when Christopher had to move out of his familiar city, he became physically ill and frightened. Unlike most children, people with autism do not easily adapt to new environments or situations. The process of learning to understand and accept what they already do not know can lead to a high level of anxiety.
Although coping with and coping with autistic children may seem like a daunting task, much has already been studied and published about proper management that reduces not only child anxiety but also their parental stress. Reduces certain techniques such as Cognitive Behavior Modification, Behavior Modification Techniques and Environmental Modification Techniques, which have been shown to be effective in changing abusive behavior and improving the learning skills of children with autism. Some people, who have complications other than autism, may need additional treatment as prescribed by a doctor. Children with manic depression due to their dissatisfaction with accidentally engaging in self-defense behaviors may require more treatment than previously described. In this situation it is advisable to consult a psychiatrist and other medications may be prescribed.
Christopher's story ends, he was able to overcome the most worrying challenges and his mother decided to come back to look after him. Like this fictional novel, it can also be achieved in dealing with the tension and anxiety between families who have to deal with the situation in real life. Stress and anxiety in parents and autistic children can be effectively addressed through proper management, medication or treatment.
